Job Summary
The Channel Systems Engineer is responsible for technical pre-sales support throughout the sales cycle. This includes, but is not limited to, the development and implementation of technical sales strategies, delivery of technical presentations, product demonstrations, customer and reseller training, and support for customer product evaluations.
Responsibilities
The Channel Systems Engineer (SE) develops strategic relationships with partners and works to be positioned as a trusted advisor on all Enterprise Solutions matters. Developing and selling innovative IT solutions to address partners business needs, and delivering exceptional customer experience in alignment with the Standards.
The SE will develop integrated account plan with CDM to identify new enterprise opportunities, by Integrating and co-ordinating all elements of the Solution portfolio including demand, delivery and partners.
The SE should be able to communicates the Solution vision and capability to customers on CxO level, proactively forging strong relationships with the alliances to assist sales in given territory
Maximizing the inclusion of the product / services relevant to the opportunity and keeping up to date with the product / solution offerings, partner offerings, current industry trends and fully assess the impact on the customers and potential customers.
In this role the SE will provide leadership to ensure that a customer's enterprise solution is comprehensive, achieves customer expectations and meets business needs and ensures the Account Executive understands and meets customers' on-going enterprise/ product/services needs. Working with Solutions Architects and TSR's to sell complex enterprise solutions, products and services and representing the company in an appropriate professional, ethical and competent manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide pre-sales technical support
- Provide technical product presentations and demonstrations
- Maintain detailed knowledge of major competitors and baseline knowledge of all other competition
- Lead efforts to design and deliver customized solutions to meet customers' needs
- Work directly with customers in the sales and account management process
- Manage and provide technical support for pre-sales product evaluations
- Provide customer assistance with all related test tools and applications
- Perform reseller and customer technical product training
- Insure customer satisfaction through proper expectation setting
- Provide problem escalation in a timely manner when required
- Provide feedback on features, issues, trends, and other product or market related concerns that affect product sales and acceptance
- Keep current on all the Solutions portfolio, product features, capabilities, and roadmaps
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
The Systems Engineer position requires the following prerequisite skills and experience. Additionally, the System Engineer is expected to constantly improve his/her skills to meet or exceed industry requirements. These skills apply to technical knowledge, sales awareness, business acumen, time management, and interpersonal skills such as written and verbal communication.
Technical degree or equivalent required
- 5+ years of pre-sales support
- 3+ years of indepth server and storage experience including integration
- 3+ years experience with UNIX, Linux, NT/Windows Server or other Operating Systems
- 3+ years experience with Server/Storage Integration into heterogeneous IT environments
- Experience with Ethernet and IP Networking technologies
- Good working knowledge of performance and storage test tools
- Strong individual and group presentation skills
- Very good verbal and written communications skills - fluency in Dutch and English is required
- Excellent customer management skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Self-starter - good internal motivation for self-directed time and activities
