The Global Sr. Product Category Manager has overall responsibility for the assigned product group/portfolio with the objectives of improving sales and profitability, offering a protective solution to our end-users, understanding and optimizing satisfaction, driving competitiveness, monitoring competitors whilst building the company's reputation and innovative expansion as the number one market leader in our chosen arena.

This responsibility exists throughout the product lifecycle from initial idea through to development, launch, ongoing operations and growth of product. Global Sr. Product Category Manager will work closely with regional commercial organizations and operations to deliver planned levels of revenue, margin, operating income & market share.

This responsibility requires technical product expertise and includes the control, management and evolution of the product group (price positioning, product life-cycle, new product development, product enhancement programs), and the global marketing strategies and tactics associated with the assigned product group along with oversight and sign off for any changes to operational practices including (but not limited to) activities that may impact customer, product quality improvement and product specification development/upgrades.

The Sr. PM will lead the Regions and other Functional Groups in the identification and execution of initiatives designed to enhance the core of the portfolio whilst filling any gaps with strategically important products. This includes new product development, product improvement initiatives as well as initiatives to improve cost competitiveness through material or sourcing changes. These initiatives will be grounded on Voice of the Customer (‘VoC') research and supported through appropriate concept and end user testing to fully validate the initiative.


  • Manages the evolution of the assigned product range/portfolio with the objective of developing and enhancing global competitiveness. Identifies and coordinates opportunities for improving global position as the Market Leader through the use of innovation linked to NPD, Product Enhancement, Services and Training. 
  • Defines the ideal product range/portfolio for various Global geographies and market segments and develops recommendations for new products and product rationalization. Creates uniquely advantageous approaches to customers through leveraging the company product breadth and scale and provides co-ordination on the implementation of approved rationalization programs in conjunction with the Regional Marketing and Operations & Supply teams.
  • Furthers overall strategy for assigned product areas through the creation and development of partnerships & alliances with outside entities, along with technical & market knowledge.
  • Has the ability to combine products / product groupings from various entities within the company, and combine them to develop a comprehensive product offering. Works with other functional groups as needed.
  • Prepare annual budgets for units and revenues by product line. Works in conjunction with regional commercial organizations to deliver planned levels of revenue, margin, operating income and market share. Track & monitor profitability of product areas as primary KPI.
  • Work with regional marketing groups to assist in the localization of global communications. Monitor regional communications activity & assist where needed.
  • Develops effective product strategic plans and long-term product roadmaps capable of rapidly responding to key changes in the competitive environment.
  • Develops compelling business cases for new/enhanced product development plans by working closely with End User's, Vertical Directors and Regional Marketing & Sales personnel to understand user-driven product needs.
  • Coordinates new product introduction providing coordination and communication with Regional marketing/sales and R&D teams.
  • When required, supports acquisition and integration activities related to his product portfolio.
  • Develops and maintains a database of intelligence on key competitors (capacity, pricing & product performance) for the assigned product range/portfolio. 
  • Any other activity at the request of the Global Director, Product Category Management Chemical Hand Protection



  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing
  • Master's degree preferable, MBA a plus
  • or equivalent job experience

Job Experience

  • 5+ years of engineering, sales or marketing experience in similar channels or products 
  • Experience in both sales and marketing products on regional/ international levels
  • Project Management experience is desirable, intimacy with project management tools such as Stage Gate, and MS project or Smartsheet
  • Strong financial / budget management skills 
  • Familiarity of working in a global matrix organization preferred
  • Established relationships within PPE industry

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong level of technical understanding around the end-to-end product development cycle including research, product positioning, operational planning, product implementation and marketing launch planning & execution Market knowledge
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point) and mainframe network 
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; additional language(s) preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge and experience with Project Management tools
