Description :


One of my client is currently seeking a Network Engineer position. The Network & IP/Telephony Engineer will provide the daily administrative, monitoring, and escalation functions required to maintain a highly available wide area network, IP Telephony and local area network. The mix will be 80% WAN to 20% IP Telephony. The environment is supporting over 15 remote locations both in Belgium and internationally. The Network Engineer will be responsible for the WAN and VPN infrastructure as well as the IP Telephony network.

As a Network Engineer you will:

  • Be responsible for the Initial escalation of network issues from help desk
  • You will manage the IP/Telephony infrastructure administration with multiple Cisco CallManager 4.x servers.
  • Maintain and support the Cisco Unity Voicemail system worldwide
  • Provide both Installation and configuration of LAN and WAN devices on the network
  • You will maintain devices in a network management platform as well as monitor and report network activity
  • You will provide daily administrative changes for switched network in the Data center
  • Perform IT Team projects
  • Assist with office moves and new office infrastructure setup
  • Provide VPN configuration and support
  • Contribute in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills as well as strong customer service abilities

Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Computer Information with GPA 3.0 or better
  • CCNA, CCDA, CIPT, CCNP or CCVP a plus
  • Familiar with Cisco CallManager and UNITY Voicemail a plus
  • Familiar with Routing - EIGRP, OSPF
  • Switching - VLANs, VTP, STP, HSRP, Etherchannel
  • Configuration of Cisco routers Cisco 1800, 2800, 3800
  • Configuration of Cisco switches Cisco 3750, 4500, 6500
  • Knowledge of OSI and TCP/IP model
  • Troubleshooting T1/E1 interfaces (Layer 2 & Layer 3)
  • Understanding of QOS on WAN and LAN environments.
  • Any knowledge of IPSEC VPN's a plus
  • Experience with Protocol Analyzers or Sniffers
  • Knowledge of Cisco Call Manager 4.2 (3)
  • Configuration of Voice Gateways, SRST, CER
